More than 540 kilograms of heroin worth 320 million Hong Kong dollars, or about 40 million US dollars have been confiscated when Hong Kong and Thailand police busted a drug smuggling ring.

Hong Kong and Tailand Police have confiscated 540 kilograms of Heroin worth 320 million Hong Kong dollars, or about 40 million US dollars when they succeed in breaking up a drug smuggling gang. [baidu.com]

Police say the drugs were found in a Hong Kong-owned fishing boat in the South Thailand Sea. Five people on board were arrested.

This is the largest drug seizure in Thailand in the past ten years.
