Late Adriano goal gives Inter 3-2 win over Milan

Adriano fired in a powerful free kick and Dida parried but he could not
prevent Martins firing home the loose ball.
An 83rd-minute Stam header from a Pirlo free kick briefly levelled the scores
but in the first minute of stoppage time Adriano headed a corner past Dida to
give Inter the three points and consign Milan to a third loss in four Serie A
matches.
Juventus had a much easier time overcoming Cagliari, who arrived at Turin's
Stadio delle Alpi having earned just one point from seven away matches this
season.
Their resistance crumbled quickly, with Pavel Nedved putting the home side
ahead after just 10 minutes.
Midfielder Patrick Vieira conjured up a lovely chip over the defence to
Trezeguet and although Cagliari goalkeeper Andrea Campagnolo blocked the French
striker's lob he could not prevent Nedved tucking away the loose ball.
SPECTACULAR FINISH
Trezeguet got on the scoresheet eight minutes later with a spectacular finish
at full-stretch to poke the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
Fabio Cannavaro and Adrian Mutu went close to extending Juve's advantage
before Trezeguet got their third goal -- and his 13th in Serie A this season --
in the 53rd minute, sweeping home Nedved's lay-off.
The French international completed a memorable performance midway through the
half when he rushed into the area, rounded Campagnolo and angled a shot
goalwards.
The ball bounced off the base of the post, struck back-pedalling defender
Fabio Vignati and rolled into the net to complete Juventus's victory.
Elsewhere, Livorno's excellent run continued as they beat Lazio 2-1 to
consolidate fifth place on 28 points.
Serie A title race still open, says Inter coach Mancini
ROME, Dec 11 (Reuters) - Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini insists they can
mount a serious title challenge to Serie A leaders Juventus after his side beat
city rivals AC Milan 3-2 in a dramatic derby at the San Siro on Sunday.
Inter's victory, courtesy of a stoppage-time header by Brazilian striker
Adriano, lifted them to second place with 32 points from 15 games, 10 points
behind champions Juve who crushed Cagliari 4-0 in an earlier match.
