Frist East Asia Summit opens

The First East Asia Summit (EAS) opened in Kuala Lumpur Wednesday,
aiming at strengthening the regional cooperation.
The EAS summit is convened at the Kuala Lumpur Concention Center following
the 11th the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and other
related Summits.
The first EAS is participated by ASEAN, Australia, China, India, Japan,
Republic of Korea and New Zealand.
Leaders of the EAS nations are expected to have an exchange of views on EAS'
role in strengthening the regional cooperation.
At the end of the EAS, the leaders will sign the Kuala Lumpur Declaration of
EAS.
