Ricky Davis added 24 points for Boston, which lost its second straight on a
five-game road trip that started with Monday's 118-111 loss at Seattle. The
Celtics struggled in the third quarter this time, shooting 9-for-20 and trailing

Warriors coach Mike Montgomery's decision to shuffle his lineup and start
Diogu seemed to work in an effort to get the Warriors off to a better start.
Diogu, last season's Pac-10 player of the year and the ninth overall draft
pick this year out of Arizona State, finished with 12 points and one rebound in
24 minutes before fouling out with 4:35 left. Blount's ensuing three-point play
pulled Boston within 101-100.
"It definitely is a two-man job," Diogu said of the center position. "I
fouled out being aggressive like the coaches told me to do."
Foyle said before the game he hoped the move would get him more motivated,
and he showed that on the court. In the third quarter, he jumped into the
passing lane to make a steal and had a breakaway dunk opportunity before being
fouled 錕斤拷 an uncharacteristic play from the 6-foot-10 center. He finished with
seven points, six rebounds and a season-high five blocks.
"If I can get 12 points from (Diogu) and seven points and five blocks from
Adonal, it doesn't matter who starts to me," Montgomery said. "It's more than
we've got out of that position in a while."
Both teams came out shooting well.
The Warriors made 11 of their first 13 shots, but Boston was 13-for-14 錕斤拷 92.9
percent 錕斤拷 before a timeout midway through the first quarter. Boston then made
its next basket before Ricky Davis missed a 12-foot jumper.
Richardson swished a 3 from the top of the arc as the buzzer sounded ending
the first quarter, pulling the Warriors within 38-37. Golden State shot 70
percent in the period to 72 for the Celtics.
"It was basically a game full of offense," Pierce said. "They probably played
a little more defense than we did. We were giving up layups at crucial times in
the game and it's tough to win. We're putting too much pressure on ourselves to
score every time down when we don't get stops."
The Warriors were outrebounded 20-8 in the first half, but Boston committed
14 turnovers that led to 18 points for Golden State on the way to a 58-57
halftime lead.
Marion, Nash lead Suns winning rally over Wizards
