Taiwan women of different generations differ in career preference: Survey
HONG KONG, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Taiwan women of different generations have different preferences in career choices, with retail and trade being the industries most desired by those born in the 1980s, according to a report reaching here from Taipei on Tuesday. For women born in the 1960s and 1970s, the electronic manufacturing industry and trade are their favorites, according to the survey conducted by the on-line employment service provider 104 Job Bank on the eve of the International Working Women's Day. On the types of positions they are seeking, financial and accounting jobs are the most wanted by women born in the 1960s, while most women born in the 1970s and 1980s are looking for administrative and general affairs jobs. However, the electronic industry remains the most popular among Taiwan women, with the top five enterprises attracting the largest number of female job seekers after the Lunar New Year holiday being electronic companies. Meanwhile, an analysis conducted by the job bank on 726,935 jobs seekers born between the late 1960s and the early 1980s indicates that the pay received by women is catching up with men's and that women's performance is especially outstanding in the sales, marketing, financial, human resources, design and media fields. |
