Puppy 是指小狗、幼犬或稚嫩的年輕人。所以puppy-love 就是指少男少女間短暫的愛情或初戀：immature infatuation of an adolescent, sometimes a young boy’s or girl’s love for especially an older person of the opposite sex, which does not last long or lead to sexual relations.
例如：He’s mad about his biology teacher, but it’s only puppy-love.他迷戀著生物學老師，但那只不過是孩子的一片癡情罷了。
