據(jù)報道，2004年NBA球員交易及自由球員簽約將于15日正式開始，NBA也已公布了2004至2005賽季的球隊(duì)薪金上限。外電有這樣的報道：The reigning NBA champion Detroit Pistons are expected to announce Wednesday the signing of free agent forwards Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess. Free agent的意思是“自由球員”，即不受合約束縛的職業(yè)隊(duì)員。自由球員又分為兩種：完全自由球員（unrestricted free agent）和有限制的自由球員（restricted free agent），自由球員制度叫做free agency system。
