Abstract: The Law on Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste is the basic law in the field of prevention and control of solid waste pollution in China. In the new era of ecological civilization, the above-mentioned Law is unable to meet the new requirements of strengthening the protection of the ecological environment and fighting the tough battle of pollution prevention and control. It is urgent to revise and innovate the institutional mechanisms for betterment. It is advisable to revise the Law respectively from the aspects of legislative name, legislative status, terminology definition, main responsibility, basic principles and systems, regulatory systems and incentive mechanisms. The revision needs to focus on strengthening the support for solid waste disposal and circular-economy enterprises, promoting the orderly classification of urban and rural domestic waste, and improving the regulatory system for the trans-administrative transportation and disposal of solid waste, so as to promote the environmental legislation in the field of solid waste pollution prevention and control in China.
