A delegation from CAR Inc, a leading auto rental provider in China, paid a visit to the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) in Fujian province on May 24 to investigate its development.

Attracted by bright prospects and preferential policies, CAR attaches much emphasis on the Pingtan market, where it has set up nine subsidiary companies over the past year, with business ranging from information technology to designated driving and auto management.

“The mounting investment in Pingtan is in line with CAR’s development strategy. We hope to stand firm in Pingtan in order to boost the growth of our group as a whole,” said Lu Zhengchuan, CAR’s board chairman.

Pingtan will bolster CAR by building supporting facilities and providing logistics and other services, said Li Dejin, director of the PCPZ’s administrative committee.

Established in 2007 and headquartered in Beijing, CAR is one of China's largest car rental service providers with car rental services including short- and long-term rentals and financial leasing, as well as value-added services such as roadside assistance and one-way rentals.

Today, CAR operates in 169 major domestic cities with over 1,000 service locations and nearly 130,000 automobiles.
