A bullet train had a trial run over the Yelang River Bridge at Tongzi county, Zunyi city in Southwest China's Guizhou province on Jan 11, marking the completion of China's concrete railway bridge with the longest arch of its kind.

The Yelang River Bridge is an important part of a railway connecting two major cities in southwest China, Chongqing municipality and Guiyang, capital of Guizhou. The bridge and the railway were both part of the test run.

One of the largest concrete arch railway bridges ever built, the splendid Yelang River Bridge is the highest crossing on the 347 kilometer double track high speed railway line between Guiyang and Chongqing.
The central span of 370 meters is larger than any concrete railway arch outside of China except for the Almonte Railway Bridge in Spain. In China only the Beipan River?Bridge in Guizhou province's Qinglong county and the Nanpan River?Bridge in Yunnan province's Qiubei county have longer arches.

The 1,117-meter-long structure has approach spans of 5x32 and 16x32 meters. The tallest pier columns within the arch are 60.7 meters.
