The First Ningjin Textile and Garment Festival was held from Oct 16 to Oct 17 in Ningjin county in Hebei province.
Co-hosted by the Hebei Office of Minority Business Enterprise and local government, the festival led to the signing of 15 joint venture and cooperation projects with a total investment of 670 million yuan, and 45 sale contracts worth an estimated 2.28 billion yuan.
After 30 years of development, Ningjin has become famous for casual clothing manufacturing. The county is home to an entire apparel industry, including textile, printing and dyeing, and washing. There are about 1,500 garment enterprises with over 50,000 employees located in Ningjin.
Ma Cuilan, chairman of the Hebei Trade Union and vice president of China Textile and the Jiang Hengjie Garment Association, attended the festival’s opening ceremony.
