Caofeidian Harbor has passed state inspection and can open itself to the outside world. The days when Caofeidian was only temporarily open for seven years are gone. The opening-up of the harbor is of strategic significance to Hebei province.
Caofeidian Harbor is an ice-free port with 69.5 kilometers of deepwater coastline. It is a diamond-level port along the Bohai Sea. A 300,000-ton large berth and more than 260 ten-thousand-ton berths can be built without digging channel or dock basin. Twenty-four berths for ore, oil and coal have been finished and put into use. Its designed capacity reaches beyond 190 million tons. The harbor can anchor international ships and accept commodities for international trade. |
