Since the beginning of 2012, Hebei provincial electric power supervision department has been emphasizing energy saving and reduced emissions and has made progress in electric power company structural changes and in saving energy and cutting emissions thanks to some innovations and tightening measures.
The province supports the reasonable exploitation and utilization of renewable energy resources and greater supervision in energy resource acquisition. By the end of September of this year, its installed wind power capacity reached 6.1 million kilowatts, and the electric energy output at 8.98 billion kilowatt, for a33.44 percent year-on-year increase.
And, because of the increase in energy saving, the energy intensity of its electric power producers continues its decrease. The province also supports these enterprises in looking for newer high-tech methods and provides guidance when possible.
The work in Hebei on de-sulfurization and de-nitrification facilities is also increasing, and more than 90 percent of its coal-fired units have installed de-sulfurization equipment, while about 12 percent have the de-nitrification equipment, which contribute a great deal to its energy-saving, emissions-reduction index.
The electric power supervision department is expected to cooperate with other departments in applying standards and in supervising and evaluating the energy-consumption and energy-saving indices of the various power generators to see to it that this year’s energy-saving, emissions-reduction goals are attained. |
