In China's first export contract for its home-developed low-floor trains, CNR Tangshan Railway Vehicle Co will provide the light rail equipment to the Turkish city of Samsun, according to a contract signed on Dec 17. The vehicles do not need steps to passenger cabins because their floor is only 35 centimeters above the rail. The first shipment is scheduled to be delivered to Samsun by the end of 2013 under the contract worth more than 60 million yuan ($9.6 million). |
