Inner Mongolia is working hard to build a state-level export base of green agricultural and animal husbandry products, according to the autonomous region's government.

The autonomous region now boasts 2,038 pollution-free products, green products, organic products and products of geographical indication that sell well across the country.

Local authorities said the region is working on six pillar industries including dairy products, beef and mutton, food and vegetable oil and cashmere.

To improve such products' competitive edge, local authorities are working hard on brand building. Reliant on leading companies, they are integrating locally competitive brands to improve their brand awareness. Companies are also encouraged to file for famous Chinese trademarks, locally famous trademarks as well as products of geographical indication. Local authorities also support them to register international trademarks and go global.

Statistics show that Inner Mongolia has 57 agricultural products of geographical indication, 389 green products (with certified output totaling 2.26 million tons) from 144 companies and 323 organic products (with certified output totaling 446,000 tons) from 41 companies.

The autonomous region is implementing a program to sell green agricultural and animal husbandry products nationwide. Building on success in its product showrooms in Beijing and Shanghai, local authorities are planning to set up offices and sales centers in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Tianjin and other major cities. They will also promote and sell the products online.

Inner Mongolia is estimated to have 26 million mu of land dedicated to pollution-free agricultural products and 25 million head of animals that meet the standards of pollution-free animal husbandry products by 2017.
