The Shanxi Jindi Co's technology transformation of a 2*320–cubic meters manganous slag production costing 370 million yuan ($60.59 million) is close to completion and now is undergoing testing.

The project applies the latest in technology, with surplus blast furnace gas and a steam-preheating system to recover wasted heat from flue gas and to reduce energy consumption. This can help save more than 4000 kWh a year and cut energy consumption by 50 percent, which opens the way to lower consumption and higher efficiency for the city of Datong, Shanxi province.
