Roads reopen after closing due to snow

All the roads in Wudang Mountains that were blocked by snow were reopened on Feb 11, and tourists can reach all the scenic spots by tour buses, according to the Wudang Mountains Tourism and Economy Special Region.

The authorities also said that the power generation equipment has been inspected, with the aim of ensuring the smooth operation of the cable cars at the scenic spot.

People who intend to visit Wudang Mountains by bus can choose one of two routes: the 25-km Wudang Road via Daolian Temple, Taizipo scenic spot, Xiaoyao Valley, Zixiao Palace and Nanyan Palace, and then head to the Golden Hall on foot.

The other option concerns the 14-km Qiongtai Road, which includes Baxian Temple and Qiongtai scenic spot, and visitors can then reach the Golden Hall by cable car.

Staff of the tourist attraction said that ticket windows were closed on Feb 6 and 7 because of the heavy snow. A high voltage power line was also broken on Feb 6 due to the accumulated snow, resulting in a power failure concerning a large area in the scenic spot.

A power company of Danjiangkou city is repairing the circuit and the power generation equipment will be used until the power supply is back to normal.
