Yichang invites tourists worldwide with love letter

"I am Yichang. If you come, you will fall in love with me, the wooden house in Bashan Mountains and be amazed by the legend of orange lights…"

On April 27, a news conference themed "Fall in love with Yichang & love letter from Yichang" was held in Yichang city, Central China’s Hubei province, where the Three Gorges project is located.

Yichang, with Yangtze River going through the city, has magnificent mountains and rivers and is rich in Bachu culture and Tujia ethnic group customs. It also boasts a natural landscape and modern engineering.

The city was recognized with awards including for excellent Chinese tourism city, national civilized city, national forest city, and national environmental protection model city.

During the event, two performers dressed as Qu Yuan and Wang Zhaojun, two historical celebrities from Yichang, read the prose poem “Love Letter from Yichang" accompanied by a beautiful melody.

According to Yichang Three Gorges tourism area management committee and Yichang Municipal Tourism Bureau, "Love Letter from Yichang" is a way to express affection to tourists all over the world and an invitation.

At the same time, it shows that Yichang will put more emphasis on cultural and leisure tourism development, and gradually move from promoting tourism resources to a tourism lifestyle.

During the news conference, Yichang tourism department signed contracts with several domestic vehicle brands and some well-known travel agents for driving travel and group travel.

The three sides are working together to promote the growth of Yichang tourism at home and abroad.

Liu Bing, director of Yichang Tourism Bureau, said the city will seize the release of the “l(fā)ove letter” as an opportunity to internationalize Yichang tourism.
