Chongqing beauty charms Congo boy

In his home country Congo, Junior can take up to four wives; but in his new home China, he is attracted to only one girl.

As the plane landed at Chongqing Jiangbei Airport, Junior, a student from Congo, never thought he would see such huge areas of farmland, nor did he expect to meet his only queen.

He came to Chongqing last year to study at one of the city’s key schools - Chongqing Foreign Languages School. Now, one year after settling into his new home, he is studying civil engineering in the University of Chongqing, where his teacher gave him the Chinese name "Nanfang".

Junior shares the story of how he met his current girlfriend, a beautiful Chongqing girl: he has a friend at the University of Chongqing who is dating a girl from Chongqing. This girl had a friend, a Chongqing beauty, who Junior eventually met.

After meeting her, he was quickly taken with her beauty and fell in love. He would telephone her everyday to propose marriage. Finally, the girl agreed to marry him.

However, things are different in regards to marriage in Congo than they are in China. In his native country, Junior can marry up to four women, but can only take one woman as his wife according to Chinese law. But Junior promised his beautiful girlfriend that he would take her to Congo and marry only her.

Junior is one of many international students in Chongqing. In recent years, the number of overseas students in the city has increased sharply, perhaps due to the charm of the city, such as the beautiful environment and the high quality of teaching. The influx of students is helping turn Chongqing into an international metropolis.
