GAC Gonow branches into Dongying

The Aoxuan G5, developed by GAC Gonow, makes debut in Dongying

Chinese automaker GAC Gonow Auto (GAC Gonow) established a branch in Dongying, East China’s Shandong province on April 12. On the same day, Aoxuan G5, a high-end Gonow SUV brand, rolled off the new local production line, marking the beginning of Gonow’s mass auto production in Dongying.

The auto project involves a total investment of 2.4 billion yuan ($367.4 million) and covers an area of 664,000 square meters. In addition to SUVs and auto spare parts, the project is expected to have an annual output of 150,000 pickup trucks.

Dongying Economic and Technology Development Zone, where the new branch is located, plans to build a large-scale environment-friendly auto center. The center is projected to be one of the largest production bases of SUVs, light cars and new energy-powered autos.
