Wanda Cinema Line Corp has applied for an initial public offering, according to an IPO application list published on the website of China Securities Regulatory Commission last Thursday.

Established in 2004, Wanda Cinema Line has developed into the largest theater operator in China. It now boasts 84 cineplexes and 730 screens, contributing 15 percent of the country’s total box office in 2011.

Last year, Wanda Cinema Line signed an agreement with the American giant-theater operator IMAX to open at least 75 Imax theaters in China by 2014.

Wanda's commercial real-estate company also applied for IPO. But analysts say it is quite uncertain as the macro-economic regulation is tightening up.
