The first direct flight from Seoul to Lijiang operated by Korean Air landed in Lijiang Sanyi International Airport on May 15. Korean Air is the second Korean airline after Asian Airlines to open a direct air route between Seoul and Lijiang.
The flight is scheduled every Wednesday and Friday. The flight takes off from Incheon International Airport at 5:15 pm (Beijing Time) and lands in Sanyi International Airport at 10:00 pm. The flight will return to Seoul from Lijiang at 11:45 pm.
Yunnan Airport Group will give full support to Korean Air in developing the aviation market from Korea to Yunnan, said Li Yinglin, vice-president of Yunnan Airport Group.
Korean Air is one of the biggest airlines in the world. It will focus on the development of the middle and high-end tourist market. With the help of the international air route networks of Korean Air, the opening of the Seoul-Lijiang air route will better connect Lijiang to the world and stimulate the development of the tourism market in Lijiang.
