On February 20th, Mr. Michael Diehl, Minister of the Intellectual Property and Innovation Department of USTR Office, visited the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration.

LU Guoqiang, director general of Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, welcomed Minister Michael Diehl. Mr. LU gave detailed answers about intellectual property in the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone concerned by the United States, and also about the intellectual property court, intellectual property in strategic emerging industries, patent quality and the patent financial aid policy, etc.

Minister Michael Diehl expressed that, intellectual property work in Shanghai has always taken the lead to create a good intellectual property protection environment, so a lot of foreign-funded enterprises are willing to invest and develop in Shanghai.

Both parties said that, by all means in the future, they would further enhance their cooperation and exchanges in the field of intellectual property.
