Made-in-China food processing and packaging machinery that cater for the ASEAN market will be showcased at the upcoming 12th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) to be held in Nanning, China, on Sept 18-21.

The 12th CAEXPO will have five pavilions, namely commodity trade, investment cooperation, advanced technology, trade in services and the cities of charm, as was the case with the previous CAEXPOs. The Pavilion of Commodity Trade will set up 192 booths for the Food Processing & Packaging Machinery Exhibition to showcase relevant machines that can meet the needs of ASEAN buyers. The pavilion is designed in a move to help build a platform for enterprises from both sides to establish partnerships.

Renowned enterprises are enthusiastic for taking part in the exhibition as exhibitors. Major exhibits will involve drying equipment, color sorter, mixing equipment, packaging equipment and materials, sealing, labeling, and coding equipment, meat, fruit and vegetable processing equipment, and packaging automation accessories.

Active participation of Chinese brand enterprises

Well-known Chinese brand enterprises that have confirmed their participation include LIXIANAITE Kitchen Equipment Co., Ltd, Jiangsu Fanqun Drying Equipment Factory Co., Ltd, Hangzhou Zhongya Machinery Co., Ltd, Anhui Duling Precision Machinery Co., Ltd, Dongguan Intelligence Automation Technology Co., Ltd, Nanjing Light Industrial Machinery Group and Liuzhou Kaiyu Plastic Machinery Co., Ltd. Among those companies, Nanjing Light Industrial Machinery Group is one of the 10 enterprises whose assets amount to 2 billion yuan ($312.8 million).

All the pavilions and the set-up of the CAEXPO will provide visitors, buyers and enterprises with the opportunity to have face-to-face talks with China's leading companies and choose their ideal products and partners.

Strong complementarity between ASEAN and China in food processing and packaging machinery

With the rapid growth of agro-based products exports, the ASEAN countries have increasing need and demand to import packaging materials and equipment. 'Made-in-China' food processing and packaging machinery have the advantage of low transportation cost, fast delivery, reliable quality, stable performance, simple operation, reasonable price, applicable technology and easy training and repair services. They, therefore, have grown in popularity in ASEAN countries, since they meet the needs of the enterprises to process tropical fruits like durian, mango and mangosteen that are abundant in the region.

The CAEXPO Secretariat will arrange a serious of business promotion activities like on-side trade matching programs, sourcing conferences, mini-seminars and inspection tours for buyers in order to further encourage interactions between suppliers and buyers and to help create richer economic and trade opportunities.

It will also provide assistance to the participants in hotel accommodation arrangements, transportation, exhibitions, meetings and tourism. Moreover, temporary charter flights between major ASEAN cities and Nanning will be instated to facilitate the participation of ASEAN business professionals in the CAEXPO.

The CAEXPO has so far concluded successfully for 11 consecutive sessions. Over the past 11 years, many ASEAN enterprises have established close partnerships with their Chinese counterparts via the 'Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Exhibition'. Enterprises from Vietnam, Cambodia and Lao PDR showed particular interest in Chinese food processing and packaging machinery, leading to increased trade volume achieved through the Exhibition every year.
