Environment-friendly buses debut in Sanmenxia

The first electric bus (e-bus)?service in the city of Sanmenxia, Henan province went into inaugural operation on Nov 25, informed officials.

The service is expected to provide convenience for locals, commuting between the downtown areas and the Gaoyangshan Hot Spring Resort.

With an investment of 14.04 million yuan ($ 2.20 million), 24 e-buses in Sanmenxia are set to work along the No 108 line and start every six minutes.

According to the experts, the common endurance for each e-bus after one charge is supposed to reach 500 kilometers. Also, featuring low noise and stable running, the e-bus is an environment-friendly product with low cost and a life span of more than two years.

The Sanmenxia local government attaches great importance to the environmental protection work in the city. And the appliance of e-bus in public transportation plays a key role in the government's efforts to improve ecological environment in Sanmenxia.
