Nash, Bosh earn NBA monthly honors

NEW YORK - Toronto forward Chris Bosh and Phoenix point guard Steve Nash were named the National Basketball Association players of the month for January.

Bosh made it a clean sweep of the January awards for the Raptors, whose coach Sam Mitchell and forward Andrea Bargnani were named Coach of the Month and Rookie of the Month respectively.
Bosh averaged 25.4 points and 9.1 rebounds in January, leading the Raptors to a 10-5 record.
The All-Star led the team in scoring 13 times, including 30 points with a career-high six blocks in a win at Milwaukee on January 10 and a career-best 35 points in a win over New Orleans on January 24.
Nash earned the Western Conference honor, after he averaged 18.0 points and a league-best 13.0 assists as the Suns went 15-1, tying the best January record in league history.
The two-time defending Most Valuable Player had 13 games with at least 10 assists, including a season-high 21 assists in a win over Cleveland on January 11.
Nash had 208 assists in January, the most by any player in a month since John Stockton compiled 208 for Utah in March 1995.
Phoenix's Mike D'Antoni received his second Western Conference coach of the month award in a row,
Portland Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy was the Western Conference rookie of the month.
