A flower show in the west side of Xiamen Yuanboyuan Expo Garden has become a popular attraction for local tourists during the Lighting Culture Festival staged from Sept 20 to Oct 18.

As a tribute exhibition to the festival, the flower show covers more than 45,000 square meters of land. It displays chrysanthemums, plum blossoms and nearly 20 kinds of sunflowers, including the "red lemon", a rare flower with dim red petals.

Horticulturists note that sunflowers can only bloom for 15 to 20 days, and the best viewing time is during Golden Week. Tourists are encouraged to come and learn about gardening from relevant lectures while enjoying picturesque flower landscapes.
