Ahmadinejad: No power dare to invade Iran

TEHRAN: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad addressed a military parade in Tehran on Tuesday that no power dare to invade Iran.

"Today, no power dare to have the idea to invade Iran and deprive Iran of rights and interests," Ahmadinejad said when he was speaking to the military parade marking the anniversary of the start of the 1980-1988 Iraq-Iran war.

The president noted that "the Iranian nation seeks the establishment of peace and sustainable security based on justice," saying "Iran is powerful to defend their rights and land."

"Our powerful armed forces will cut the hands of every power who intends to shoot a bullet at us from anywhere," he warned.

Ahmajinejad also condemned foreign troops' presence in the region.

"It is insupportable that those from many kilometers away dispatch troops to this region," Ahmadinejad said, adding "they occupy lands and make people feel unsafe with slaughter."

"It is insupportable that those who are selling weapons and shouting slogan of peace accuse others of creating insecurity," he continued.

"They want to establish divarication in the region," he told his army, stressing that "we advise you to go back to your own land."

"As you saw in Iraq and Afghanistan, people are against the presence of foreigners. It is impossible for foreign troops to have a stable base in these regions," he added.

Iran's armed forces, Islamic Revolution Guard corps and Basij volunteer force joined Tuesday's military parade in Iran's capital.
