SEOUL -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) proposed Wednesday to hold talks with?South?Korea?on August 14 on the issue of reopening the suspended Kaesong industrial complex.

Pyongyang suggested holding the seventh round of working-level talks, which Seoul repeatedly called for, at its border town of Kaesong a week later, Yonhap News Agency reported, citing a special statement by the DPRK's Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea. ?

The committee said that it declared the lifting of the Kaesong industrial zone's temporary suspension, allowing the entry of?South Korean?companies to the industrial park, guarantee on South Korean workers'normal report to work, guarantee on personal security of South Korean personnel and property protection as well as guarantee on normal operations based on recurrence prevention of the inter-Korean factory park's stoppage incident.

If the South Korean authorities respond to the DPRK's broad- minded and generous stance, Pyongyang will hold the seventh talks with Seoul next Wednesday at its border town of Kaesong, the statement said.
