China, US working on necessary procedures for trade deal

China firmly opposes adverse provisions against Chinese enterprises in the US National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
China and the United States are working on necessary procedures regarding the phase one trade deal, and closely communicating on other follow-ups.
Gao Feng, the ministry's spokesman, said necessary procedures, such as legal review, translation and proofreading of the preliminary deal, are underway.
Both negotiating teams are maintaining close contact in follow-up work, like signing the agreement, Gao said at a weekly briefing.
