RIO DE JANEIRO - Brazilian Cultural Minister Ana de Hollanda has stepped down from her post, marking the 13th cabinet change in President Dilma Rousseff's government since she took office in January 2011, Brazil's presidential office said Tuesday.

According to local daily O Globo, Hollanda was fired after complaining about the Cultural Ministry's low budget in a letter sent to Planning Minister Miriam Belchior.

As an artist and songwriter, Hollanda was also reportedly not very well received by Brazil's artistic community.

Senator Marta Suplicy, one of the most prominent members of the ruling Workers Party, will take over the cultural ministry on Thursday.

Before being a senator, Suplicy served as tourism minister during the former President's second term, as mayor of Brazil's largest city Sao Paulo, and as a federal representative. She is known for her work in defense of the rights of women and the gay community.

The last cabinet change occurred in March, when the local press speculated that Hollanda would probably be the next to leave.
